How can I know what product I should buy?
If you are an implantologist working in a private practice, we would recommend you to take the SimPlant Planner program to start. When you'll be more skilled, you'll ask for the SAFE System.
- If you want to show around and present your plans to your patients, your referrers, your lab technician and others, we would recommend you to take the View Module to save you plans and allow others to view them using a free View program.
- If you work in a large clinic, with several implantologists and a CT scan, we would recommend you to choose the SimPlant Pro to convert your data directly from your CT scan. The bad pint about it is that other people workig on SimPlant planners will not be able to open your files.
- If you work in an hospital, working with several CT scans, we would recommend you to take the SimPlant Master to be totally independant to treat your cases.
- If you are an Oro MaxilloFacial surgeon, the SimPlant CMF is the good choice for you.
- If you want to take care of orthopedic surgeries, the Mimics is the best existing software for you.
If you want to have custom offer, Download the Evaluation form and send it to us.
How can I get a free View software to view SimPlant plans?
To be able to View a SimPLant Plan, this plan must be registered on a SimPlant Planner or SimPlant Pro program using a View module.
- If you want to check if you have a View Module or if you want to install a View module on your SimPlant Planner or Pro, just contact us at ACT. We'll give you the fee to activate the View Module.
- If you get a View module on your SimPlant Planner or SimPlant Pro and you want to share your plans with: patients, referrers, lab technician and others, you only need to send them your plan to be opened with a free View program.
- To be able to install the View program, it's very easy. Go and download a View program for free, go to Materialise downloads.
Register (for the first time) and download the View program. Install it once and look at every plan you want for free.
How can I know if my CT scan center is OK for doing that?
99% of CT scan data today are DICOM format. You just have to check if your CT scan center can send us DICOM data. CT scan data (axial views and scout view) are sent to the FTP site of ACT. ACT makes a segmentation, cleans images, makes appropriate masks and converts DICOM data into .sim data. You will be able to read .sim files with your SimPlant Planner. You are posted by e-mail when you can download your patient's file on your private FTP folder ACT will open for you. If you get the Pro version or the Master version, you'll perform the conversions on your own without ACT's participation.

Usually we give an appointment one week after the CT scan date for the case presentation.
What is the background of this technique?
Materialise is the world leading company in the market of Computer Guided Implantology. Medical development is based on:
- The PHIDIAS project for 3D and software, held from 1997 to 1998.
- The PISA project (Personalized Implant Surgical Aid) that was developed with the support of several major companies and universities in Europe from 1997 to 2001.
- The merge of Materialise with CSI extended its network all over the world.
- Today Materialise serves 5 000 customers with an unparallel growing pace.
Due to the fact that no company was taking care of Middle East countries, the development of Computer-guided Implantology was a little slower in Middle East than in Europe, USA and Asia. Accuracy Current Technologies is based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to help surgeons and develop Computer Guided Implantology over Middle East.
Where and when can I be trained?
Computer Guided Implantology will reward you and will increase your reputation if you know exactly what you can do with it. Training courses are mandatory to improve in this field. ACT Institute organizes courses in Dubai at 3 different levels. - Level I is an introduction to the Computer Guided Implantology and the SimPlant Planner. - Level II is an introduction to the uses of Surgical guides and the SAFE System. - Level III is an introduction to the trans-sinusal implants, to the Immediate Smile and the LabSAFE procedures. All these courses have workshops.
All our courses ar Certified by the SimPlant Academy
Can I keep my implants if I want to work with SurgiGuides and with the SAFE System?
- All existing implant brand can be used with the SurgiGuides. SurgiGuides are made by stereolithogtaphy and designed to guide the drilling process. In this case, implants are placed manually after guided drilling. 2000 different implants are available in SimPlant implant library and 700 abutments. You have the choice.
- Following your personal drilling sequence, three different SurgiGuides can be delivered including different diameter metal tubes.
- SAFE System can be an option on a SurgiGuide. In this case not oinly drills are guided but also implants. It has been initially designed for external hex implants and regular platforms (Nobel, 3i, Easy System Implants...). We need to check compatibility not only with a brand, but with every single different implant design in the same brand. Several implant brands are currently working with Materialise to develop components allowing compatibility.
What is the precision of the SAFE System?
Several studies have been done to measure accuracy in implant placement on dry models, on cadavers, on human and on animals since 1997. Measures are done using a superimposition of CT scan of implant planned on CT scan of implants placed. With manual implant placement (Mental) the accuracy is around 3.5 mm and the angle about 10°. Using a Surgical guide to drill, but placing implants by hand give an accuracy of 0.9 mm. Using a SurgiGuide SAFE System, the accuraty goes down to 0.3 mm. A study on rabbits showed an accuracy of the SAFE System of 100 microns. A publication on accuracy done by Dr. Vrielinck and Dr. Tardieu will be available soon. How long does it take to get my SurgiGuide?
The only place in the world where SurgiGuides are fabricated is in Leuven (Belgium). In the SimPlant programm, a wizard allows you to send your order, including personal wish, implant plan and automatic card payment to Materialise Leuven. You'll directly receive your guide from Materialise factory. We usually count 2 weeks. Fast orders can be done and Materialise will charge for this service.
I don't know how to order for a CT scan and for conversions for my cases to be performed on SimPlant. Do you have any model letters for that?
Yes we have. These model letters can be included in your office management software allowing you to automatically include the name of your patient, the reference of your Clinic etc.
- The first letter allows you to easily order a CT scan to your CT scan center.
- The second letter allows you to easily order a segmentation to be able to receive a .sim file to work on your SimPlant program.
- The third letter allows you to help your patient understanding how to go through this Diagnosis Phase an better understand the benefit he can draw out of it.
