One-million Smiles Project®
Dubai June 2007,
ACT, in partnership with Alpha medica co., is introducing an ambitious humanitarian project over Middle East and Asia. The objective is to help people bearing their lower denture with the help of two implant supported attachments.
People and companies involved in the project.

Mr. Amar Abdula, General Manager of Alpha medica, responsible for the management of the project.

Dr. Philippe Tardieu, as CEO of ACT, is the founder of the project. He was touched by the importance of this public health problem in Asia and Middle East and decided to set up a project that would directly benefit to final users and not just spending money without control on it.

Dr. Robert Fromental, is a talented implantologist working in France, Director of Drive Cie, responsible for the development of implants and products.
The state of the problem
A lot of people are suffering of edentulisum in Middle East and in Asia. Millions of people are fully edentulous, millions in China, millions is all Middle East. This is a real and important public health problem.
These people usually can wear dentures with more or less success. The upper dentures, based on a large surface support are quite well tolerated but the lower dentures are almost never integrated. The lower dentures move with tongue movements, they are painful when patients try to chew on them and this induces a feeling of uncomforted related to depression and sadness. Based on Dr. Tardieu's clinical: using only 2 implants to stabilize lower dentures really “changed the life “ of his patients.

Two attachment balls on two implants allowing supporting a lower denture in very good conditions.

The One-million Smiles implants designed under the supervision of Drive company (France).
The project
The objective is to be able to treat a big number of patients for a very limited price and to give to that share of population a big improvement in their everyday life. We want to give back a smile on one million faces or more it is why this project is called The One-million Smiles project®.
